Brussels Airlines has announced intentions to expand its operations towards the end of the year with more planes and personnel to fully move on from the strenuous summer suffered due to staff strikes.
In late June, cabin crew and personnel of Brussels Airlines went on a three-day strike to protest their working conditions. This resulted in a large number of flight cancellations and a record loss of €89 million for the first half of the year.
The Belgian airline currently claims that a consensus has been reached between management and employees about the heavy workload endured by its staff, and that its management is now looking to capitalise on market opportunities and expand its fleet and workforce.

This is especially true for their staff, as Brussels Airlines has already planned to hire 200 temporary cabin crew members and recruit extra personnel, as well as hire additional pilots and maintenance workers.
It is hoped this will help reduce the high workload of cabin crew and pilots who reached a breaking point this summer. However, the company has not yet determined the number of jobs that will be created by this expansion.
