An additional week of school holidays has led to an increase in flights for the flight operator Tui, the company has stated.
As the Wallonia-Brussels Federation revised the French-speaking school calendar earlier this year, students now get an extra week of vacation from October 24 to November 4.
Families with kids at French-speaking schools have helped contribute to a substantial increase in travel bookings over the first week of these school vacations for airline operator Tui.
They have attributed this to two factors. For starters, the two weeks off allows families to travel for longer periods of time to more distant places.
Second, many households have delayed travel until now owing to a combination of concerns related to both the pandemic and the energy crisis.

Tui also stated that Crete, Rhodes, and Mallorca were popular holiday destinations "since they are now available at a reduced price," after their inclusion in the operator's summer offer.
Furthermore, locations that were not available during the pandemic, such as Spain, Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey, and Morocco, are now witnessing a significant revival in bookings.
