Popular British monthly magazine DJ Mag has named Tomorrowland the world's best music festival in 2022, and commended it for "pushing the boundaries of production, imagination and curation."

The latest announcement — which followed a poll of more than 100,000 magazine readers — represents the second time that Tomorrowland has been named the world's best music festival by DJ Mag, after its previous victory in 2019. (No such polls were conducted in 2020 or 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.)

No other Belgian music festival was named in the top 100, although several other European festivals — including the UK's Glastonbury festival and the Awakenings festival in the Netherlands — also made the top 10.

"After two unprecedented years and enormous losses, there was absolutely no room for any failure in 2022," said Michiel Beers, Tomorrowland's co-founder and organiser. "But we always kept believing, in our passionate team, the people of Tomorrow, all artists, partners and suppliers all over the world. We never let go of hope and continued to write our stories with healthy ambition, big dreams and positive vibes."

He added: "In the end, 2022 turned out to be such a beautiful year, with so many unforgettable moments. We are very grateful for all the love and all the support we received. We could never have done this on our own."

To compensate for the pandemic-induced closures, the 2022 edition of Tomorrowland took place over three (rather than the usual two) weekends, and registered a record 600,000 visitors from 200 countries. This year, Tomorrowland will return to being held over just two weekends, on 21-23 and 28-30 July. Tickets can be purchased here.
