Belgian Crown Princess Elisabeth (21) learned to shoot a new weapon during a refresher course at the Royal Military School (KMS) earlier this year, which was required to participate in an upcoming summer camp.

Princess Elisabeth will again participate in the Royal Military School summer camp in July. In preparation for this, she participated in the catch-up weekend in Leopoldsburg in March.

The KMS recently changed weapons, and now uses the Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle (SCAR).

"The princess and other students who had not yet fired with this new weapon were able to practice with the SCAR for the first time during this weekend," the Palace announced on social media. While the weekend already took place two months ago, the Palace is only communicating about it now.

In July 2021, Elisabeth also participated in the three-week summer camp, which was the final phase of her one-year military training – which she passed "with flying colours" at the time. At the summer camp, the students receive theoretical and practical training to hone their military skills and techniques.

In October 2021, Elisabeth started studying 'History & Politics' at Oxford University at the Lincoln College campus, a course that will take three years.
