Late last night, Belgium's Federal Government reached an agreement on the second reading of the so-called "programme law," which includes the limitation of unemployment benefits over time. Under this measure, ultimately around 180,000 people will lose their benefits.

This has been and still is a bone of contention, but is a key pillar of the new government's fiscal and social reforms, and is aimed at getting Belgians and Brussels residents back into work, while simultaneously reducing public spending. The aim is to achieve an 80% employment level in Belgium, which will help certain sectors of the economy still struggling to fill positions and grow.

One of the sectors most under pressure is the hospitality sector, of course. However, as we report today, some businesses are going from strength to strength, particularly if you have a unique and slightly quirky concept. One example is 'Dinner in the Sky', a Belgian business started nearly 20 years ago, which takes fine dining to new heights – literally. The 14th edition of this concept launches today, 50 metres above the battlefield of Waterloo. There will also be special cocktail sessions at weekends for the next month.

Just make sure you go to the toilet before you take your seat.
