The next meeting of Belgium's Consultative Committee will likely be held next week, and is expected to discuss developments ahead of schools restarting on 19 April.

This new meeting will have the task of assessing the epidemiological situation and evaluating the measures taken during the previous meeting on 24 March, several government sources confirmed to the Belga news agency.

This last committee meeting saw Belgium scale back relaxations and implement an "easter pause" in an effort to prevent a third wave. Classes were suspended in schools from Monday 29 March, although the spring holidays were not supposed to start until a week later.

Non-medical contact professions were closed again and outdoor gatherings were once again limited to 4 people.
