A 50-year-old man was placed under arrest on Monday by a Tongres investigating judge after attacking his neighbour with a bread knife in Maasmechelen during the night from Saturday to Sunday, according to the Limburg public prosecutor’s office.
Local police were called to the scene for a neighbourhood dispute and apprehended the man that night.
During the altercation, blows were exchanged and a bread knife was wielded, resulting in one person receiving a cut on the hand.
The man who brandished the knife is now in custody.
