Ermir Ndreaj, a 44-year-old drug criminal known as ‘Cinco’, has been arrested in the Albanian capital, Tirana, as part of an investigation into international drug trafficking involving the seizure of six tonnes of cocaine, according to various Belgian and Albanian media reports.
Ndreaj has previously been convicted in Antwerp on drug-related charges. In June, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for his involvement in two successful drug imports and an attempted import totalling 1.2 tonnes of cocaine.
In the same month, he received an additional six-year prison sentence in a major drug case connected to Frank ‘De Tank’ V. The court ordered his immediate arrest in both cases.
The Antwerp prosecutor’s office stated it has not yet been officially informed of his arrest.
