Customs officials at quay 1700 in the port of Antwerp found a shipment of 59.82 kilograms of cocaine in a container from Peru.
The Ministry of Finance confirmed the discovery, noting that the container had travelled via Ecuador to reach Antwerp.
The drugs were hidden inside inspection hatches of the container.
Authorities immediately confiscated the cocaine, which is set to be destroyed.
An investigation is underway to identify those responsible for the smuggling operation.
