Nine people were injured this morning in a head-on crash between two trams on the left bank of Antwerp, according to the Flemish public transport company De Lijn.
The accident occurred on the Halewijnlaan involving trams from lines 5 and 9.
Seven passengers and two drivers sustained injuries in the incident. According to Het Laatste Nieuws, one of the drivers was seriously injured, but no one is in life-threatening condition.
Tram services on lines 3, 5, 9, and 15 are currently disrupted.
