On Sunday, supporters of Antwerp football club reacted violently after the final whistle of their club’s match against Club Brugge on the first day of the Champions play-offs of the Jupiler Pro League.

After the match ended in a 0-1 defeat for Antwerp, the club's supporters tried to climb over the grill separating their section from the stand reserved for the visiting team, according to footage circulating on social media.

They hung in the nets, threw beer and broke open the gate giving access to the family stand of Club Brugge. When they were driven back, some of them kept trying to reach Brugge supporters through the bars.

Players from both teams then came out of the changing rooms to try to calm things down.
