KU Leuven professor has bag with exam papers stolen on train

Around 20 exams from the KU Leuven, Kortrijk campus, were stolen along with a lecturer’s laptop bag on the train between Kortrijk and Antwerp on 24 June, KU Leuven reported on Friday.

The exams in question are from the faculties of Economics and Business Administration, Law and Criminological Sciences and Letters of KU Leuven campus Kortrijk. On Saturday 24 June, the exams sessions took place in both the morning and afternoon, but only the exams sat in the morning were stolen.

The professor was at the railway station in Sint-Niklaas when he was robbed of his bag, which contained the exams. The professor tried to stop the thief, but could not prevent him from escaping with the bag. There is currently no trace of the papers or the thief.

The affected students have been informed and told that they have two options, either choose to retake the subject or have the mark of a previous assignment counted
