Gunshots were reported on Wednesday evening in the Matonge district of Ixelles, according to the Brussels Fire Brigade.
Emergency services received the first report at 22:22 about gunshots on Chaussée de Wavre, Fire Brigade spokesperson Walter Derieuw confirmed.
At 23:15, an injured person was transported to hospital by ambulance, he added.
Officials have yet to confirm whether the injury is linked to the gunfire.
Details surrounding the incident remain unclear at this stage.
