The driver who hit a pedestrian on Sunday night and reported himself to the police on Monday afternoon has been released, according to local media. The judge had 48 hours to question the suspect and decide whether or not to put him under arrest, as previously reported.
The driver initially committed a hit-and-run and left the victim for dead. He was released on Tuesday afternoon under certain conditions, while the judicial investigation into the incident is still ongoing. The victim, a 21-year-old man, died of his injuries.
This Tuesday afternoon the driver was released under certain conditions. The 24-year-old is only allowed to leave his home between 6 a.m. and 22:00, is required to hand over his driving licence to the police station and is not allowed to get behind the wheel, under any circumstances.
Additionally, he has to follow a training course and has to submit to ongoing psychological evaluation.
