In line with guidance from the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (Afsca), Delhaize has decided to recall its roast turkey fillet from the shelves due to the presence of salmonella.

The supermarket chain has asked consumers not to eat the affected product and to return the turkey product back to the store for a full refund.

The product, EAN code 2223870000000, has been on the market since 29 July and expires 7 August. Delhaize states that it has already removed the product from shelves and reinforced food quality checks for the future in question, as well as the supplier.

Other similar products sold by the supermarket are not affected by the salmonella contamination and can be safely consumed, Delhaize assured consumers.
