Belgium's largest health insurer has set up an account on an infamous pornographic website in order to counter health-related disinformation and misinformation, Belga News Agency reports.

The Christian Mutuality (CM) decided to create its own channel on OnlyFans, a UK-based content subscription service used primarily by sex workers who produce and distribute pornography, after becoming increasingly concerned at the poor health advice and misleading advertisements frequently viewed by young Belgians (aged 18 to 24) online.

CM's OnlyFans channel — entitled OnlyFacts_CM — complements CM's other social media accounts on TikTok and Instagram, as well as the insurer's specialised youth-oriented website jongeren.cm.be.

"Young people not only encounter popular trends and funny videos on social media, but are also confronted with beauty ideals and misinformation about health topics," explained CM spokesperson Hannah Wellens.

"Not everyone finds it easy to talk about certain health topics with friends or family. Through our platform, we want to lower the threshold and offer them the right information according to their needs."
