Jupiler Pro League: RSC Anderlecht suffer 11th loss of the season

RSC Anderlecht recorded their 11th league loss of the season against Zulte Waregem on Wednesday. The 3-2 loss leaves Anderlecht in 12th place, only five points above the relegation zone.

Playing in front of an empty stadium after having been punished for the incidents that marred Anderlecht's match against Standard in October, the players did not have to contend with the regular booing from their supporters.

Zulte Waregem went in front at the 11th-minute mark. Anderlecht did respond with two goals in quick succession from Benito Raman, giving them a 2-1 lead going into half-time.

However, they could not hold on to the lead for long as Zulte Waregem equalised in the 62nd minute before scoring the winner 13 minutes later.

As a result, talk of Anderlecht facing the threat of relegation has begun to surface in Belgian media, with the club currently only sitting five points above the relegation zone in the league table.
