Fairtrade Belgium is urging consumers to choose fair trade products throughout the month of February in a campaign called ‘Fairbruary.’
For 28 days, shoppers are encouraged to fill their baskets with fair trade items like chocolate, sugar, coffee, and bananas, identifiable by the Fairtrade label.
Fairtrade Belgium states that buying these products not only benefits producers but also the consumers themselves. Fair trade ensures better commercial conditions for farmers, enabling them to invest in the quality of their products.
Philippe Weiler, CEO of Fairtrade Belgium, emphasises that consumers hold power through their purchasing choices.
He urges people to recognise this power and use it to support farmers and their workers while benefiting themselves by opting for fair trade items.
