A person was shot and injured late on Tuesday night on Rue de la Clinique in Anderlecht, the Brussels fire brigade spokesperson Walter Derieuw confirmed.
Emergency services were dispatched to the Clemenceau neighbourhood to help the victim, who was shot at around 23:15.
The injured person was transported to hospital under medical escort.
As of Wednesday morning, the medical condition of the victim remained unknown.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident have yet to be determined.
