A De Lijn bus caught fire on Saturday evening in Schelle, south of Antwerp, according to local police.
The fire started on the roof of the vehicle, likely due to an air conditioning malfunction.
All passengers were evacuated safely without injuries.
“It was an accidental fire,” said Joris Van Camp from the Rupel police zone.
The air conditioning system is believed to have overheated, causing the blaze.
Firefighters from the Rivierenland zone quickly brought the situation under control.
