A body washed ashore on Tuesday morning on the beach near the Belgian coastal town of Oostduinkerke.
Police confirmed to Het Laatste Nieuws that they were investigating the death of a woman after her body was found at the low-water mark near the Oostenwindhelling street.
The woman's identity is unknown, and it is also unknown how long her body was in the water. Maritime police are present on the scene.
