The jury is still out on where Eurovision will be held next year. The war in Ukraine means the situation is too uncertain to host the event in Kyiv in 2023, so Eurovision organisers are considering other cities in which to host the show.

Organisers are looking at the possibility of London given the popular performance of Britain's entry Sam Ryder, who was the runner-up in this year's competition.

Speaking on the subject on Wednesday, Culture Minister of the Brussels-Wallonia Federation Bénédicte Linard didn't immediately rule out the possibility of hosting Eurovision in Brussels in 2023.

However, she stressed that before Belgium could apply to host the contest, there would need to be a "first round of consultation" with stakeholders such as broadcasters, regions and communities who would have to "mobilise... in an extremely short time."

Although organisers are considering the possibility of hosting in London, there have been calls to hold the contest in Brussels. British newspaper The Guardian argued on Tuesday that Brussels, home to the European Union, would be a symbolic venue at a time when Ukraine seeks to join the European Union.
