Breandán Kearney has won the prestigious International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) award for best beverage column for his feature articles for The Brussels Times Magazine.

Kearney won over the judges with his insightful articles on issues like the growth of low-alcohol beer, the impact of the pandemic on Belgian bars and cafés, and different styles like lambics, wheat beers and bruins.

Kearney, who is based in Kortrijk, was unable to pick up the prize, but his New York-based cousin was at the awards ceremony and accepted it for him.
