Police in Tournai raided the home of a suspected drug dealer on Wednesday, seizing drugs and charging the individual, authorities confirmed on Saturday.
The investigation began after law enforcement received information about marijuana deliveries occurring in the Tournai region. Acting on these leads, the Investigative and Research Service (SER) of the Tournaisis police conducted a house search, assisted by a canine unit.
During the operation, police confiscated 1,158.25 grams of marijuana, nearly €1,600 in cash, three mobile phones, two precision scales, a vehicle, a laptop, and various sachets containing cannabis seeds. The suspect was brought before an investigating judge.
After questioning, the individual was charged but released under certain conditions. The investigation remains ongoing.
Once the inquiry is completed, the council chamber will decide whether the case will proceed to trial before the correctional court.
