Brussels criminal court found Twitter International Unlimited Company, the European subsidiary of the social network X owned by Elon Musk (formerly Twitter), guilty on Friday of non-consensually distributing intimate images on its platform.
The court fined the company for €24,000, ruling that the company had delayed removing a rape video, reported in 2019, despite the Institute for Equality between Women and Men (IEFH) having repeatedly stated that it constituted revenge porn and that the victim had not consented to its distribution.
Twitter International Unlimited Company can still appeal the ruling.
