Belgium’s Royal Mint and Bpost are marking Princess Elisabeth’s 25th birthday with a limited-edition gold commemorative coin and a special stamp sheet.
The Royal Mint of Belgium will release the first commemorative coin featuring the heir to the throne on Sunday, the day of her birthday. Bpost will follow on Monday with a stamp sheet bearing her portrait.
The €12.50 coin is the only gold commemorative coin planned for 2026. It has been struck in pure gold and produced in the highest proof quality.

Its obverse features a portrait of the Crown Princess by Iris Bruijns, alongside the number 25 and her personal monogram. The reverse shows King Philippe, the face value and the country’s name in Belgium’s three official languages.
Only 2,500 coins have been minted, making the issue highly limited.
The stamp sheet is also aimed at collectors, with a print run of just 41,970 sheets. According to Bpost, the idea came from a collector, and the company backed it because stamps featuring members of the royal family have traditionally been among the most popular issues with philatelists.
The sheet carries a black-and-white portrait of the Crown Princess by photographer Bas Bogaerts. Myriam Voz, a designer at Bpost’s stamp printing works, said the image chosen by the Palace conveyed both modernity and timelessness.
She said she wanted to preserve that visual purity in the design while adding subtle gold accents. The gold printing, she said, gives both the stamp and the sheet a royal appearance and highlights the future of a young woman expected to become Belgium’s first reigning queen.
Princess Elisabeth has previously appeared on stamps in 2002, 2016, when she was shown with her family, and in 2019 for her 18th birthday. However, this is the first special self-adhesive stamp dedicated to a member of the Belgian royal family.
