Kortenberg police are on the hunt for another escaped wallaby after a second was seen on Thursday.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, a wallaby was caught by local police after escaping from its owner.
A few hours later, they received a phone call reporting that another wallaby had escaped from the same meadow on Weebroekweg in Kortenberg as the first wallaby.
If found, the second wallaby will be taken in by Animal Rescue Services, as the owner has indicated to police that he is unable to care for the animals.
Police believe that the shed they were housed in was trampled on by horses, allowing the wallabies to break free.
They ask anybody who sees the wallaby to phone the emergency number 101 rather than attempting to capture the animal themselves.
